Surfacer's job has always been to find the right companies to talk to. Now it can help you actually start the conversation. This release ships an end-to-end outreach feature: connect your Gmail, draft a personalised email per company, and send, all without leaving the company detail page.
The outreach loop
Five steps, one closed loop. Each one feeds back into the next release of the company's record so the next email is sharper.
One-click drafting from any company
Open a company you care about. The new Send email button on the detail page opens a draft modal with a fully-written email already prepared. The body is generated by an LLM that knows about your business (your pitch + signature) and the recipient's business (hiring trends, news, pricing changes, growth signals). Not a template, a one-of-a-kind email per company.
Plain text or styled HTML
Some inboxes treat HTML as a marketing flag and shunt your email to Promotions. Others treat plain text as low-effort. So you choose per account: clean plain-text output, or styled HTML with brand colours, headings, and a button-style CTA. Switch in Settings → Outreach → Configure LLM drafter.
Reusable templates
When you've found a sentence pattern that works, save it as a
template. Merge fields like
{{ company.name }},
{{ recipient.first_name }}, and
every signal from the company profile. Two editors: a plain
textarea with a copy-paste rail of available variables, or a
drag-and-drop block builder with brand colours, dark-mode
controls, and live preview.
Footer + compliance, baked in
Every email auto-appends your signature, an opt-out line, and a link to your Impressum. The first time you save an Impressum URL we ask you to attest §5 TMG ownership (one-time, per URL). Built around DACH B2B compliance but works fine globally.
Recipient opt-out tracking
When a recipient replies STOP, their domain goes on your blocklist automatically and we never draft to them again. On the company detail page, blocked companies show a locked-out send button with a tooltip explaining why, so you don't waste time on a contact who already said no.
How to get started
- Go to Settings → Outreach.
- Click Connect Gmail and grant the Send email on your behalf scope when Google asks.
- Fill in your elevator pitch (one sentence, what you sell, who for) and an Impressum URL for the auto-footer.
- Optional: add a signature, configure brand colours for styled mode, or author your first reusable template.
- Open a company, click Send email, review the draft, hit send.
Tips
- Keep your pitch tight. The drafter uses it verbatim. One sentence, what you sell, who for.
- Templates for volume, drafter for one-offs. Use saved templates for repeating patterns, the LLM drafter for tail-end prospects with fresh signals to anchor on.
- Watch the signals. The drafter does its best work when the company has fresh hiring, news, or pricing signals. Cold targets without signals get a shorter, honest "I'm reaching out cold" template.
- Settings autosave silently. No need to hit Save after every change.
What's next
Send-rate metrics, A/B testing across templates, and reply-rate tracking are queued. If there's a piece of the outreach loop you want us to build next, hit the Get help link in your account menu and tell us.
