Finding the right companies used to mean building a filter: pick an industry, set a size band, tick a region, repeat. Now you can just say what you're looking for. Type a sentence like "companies that do transportation and are hiring drivers", "companies hiring software-related jobs in Berlin", or "companies that need CRM services" — in German or English — and Surfacer hands you a ranked list of the businesses that fit.
Just say what you're looking for
The search bar on the Companies page now understands a whole request, the way you'd brief a colleague. You no longer translate your thinking into filters and tags — you describe the company you want, and the right ones come back, best first.
A few that already work, in either language:
- "transportation companies that are hiring drivers"
- "companies hiring software-related jobs in Berlin"
- "manufacturers near Stuttgart with an open sales role"
- "agencies that need a CRM"
It reads what you mean, not just the words you used. Ask for hiring drivers and a logistics firm shows up even if its careers page calls them "fleet staff". Drop in hard details — a city, a size, an open role — and those are honoured exactly, so "in Berlin" really does mean in Berlin.
Find who'd buy what you sell
The most useful question often isn't what a company does — it's what it needs. Ask for "companies that need CRM services" or "businesses that would buy a booking tool" and Surfacer goes looking for the companies that fit that need, not the pages that happen to mention the words. And if you'd rather not spell it out, just ask for "good leads for us" — it uses the ideal-customer profile your workspace already knows.
Then find the right people — before you spend
Finding the company is half the job; reaching the right person is the other half. Open one and its contacts are grouped by department — Sales, Engineering, Leadership, and the rest — each with a live count of how many Surfacer can find. That count is free to check, so you see who's actually there before you spend a single credit, and only enrich the teams worth your time.
Empty teams are greyed out, so you never guess where the people are, and the free plan now includes 50 credits a month for the contacts that matter.

- Filter and export your library. Narrow the companies list to one industry, or to just the ones where you've found a contact, and export exactly those rows.
- More accurate company sizes. Headcount estimates keep getting sharper in the background.

Glance through new matches on the sofa, check a lead on the way into a meeting, and get a nudge the moment a company you're watching makes a move — a new hire, a launch, a funding round.
